Picture books are a great ‘medium’ for chatting to kids about important issues. As a clinical psychologist, my idea of an important issue is their mental health! I absolutely LOVE writing and particularly, creating ways for children to think about and work with, aspects of their social and emotional health. This is the angle all my books take.
